The sharpest legal minds in the Bay Area gathered at GitHub to participate in EFF's 11th Annual Cyberlaw Trivia Night on June 28. Over 100 participants from technology law firms and Internet companies throughout the Bay Area attended, with 12 teams vying for the coveted Cyberlaw Quiz Cup. EFF's staff joined forces to craft questions, pulling details from the rich canon of privacy, free speech, and intellectual property law, creating seven rounds about privacy and speech, encryption case law, fair use in music, and more, including a special round 6.5, which introduced a hilarious battle of "Who said it?" pitting Notorious R.B.G against Notorious B.I.G.

But it all boiled down to the top three, so please join us in congratulating this year's trivia masterminds:

1st Place: "Article 29 Twerking Party"

2nd Place: "Net Brutality"

3rd Place: "Cov'r Your Cameras"

EFF hosts the Cyberlaw Trivia Night to gather those in the legal community who help protect online freedom for their users. Among the many firms that continue to dedicate their time, talent, and resources to the cause, we would especially like to thank Durie Tangri; Fenwick & West LLP; Keker, Van Nest & Peters; and Ridder, Costa & Johnstone LLP for sponsoring this year’s Bay Area event.

If you are an attorney working to defend civil liberties in the digital world, consider joining EFF's Cooperating Attorneys list.
