Joint written statement submitted by Reporters Without Borders International, a non-governmental organization in special consultative status to the twenty-fourth session of the Human Rights Council under Agenda item 2: Annual report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and reports of the Office of the High Commissioner and the Secretary-General.

In this joint written statement, Reporters Without Borders (RWB) joins the Association for Progressive Communications, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Access and Privacy International and more than 254 other organizations in calling for the adoption of the “International Principles on the Application of Human Rights to Communications Surveillance,” which were developed by Access, Electronic Frontier Foundation and Privacy International in consultation with a group of international experts.
