EFF-Austin, a local organization in the Electronic Frontier Alliance, (not EFF) will host this event:
Mexican Surveillance at the Border
From the Organizers:
There's a lot of coverage in the media about surveillance on the U.S. side of the border, but what about the Mexico side? Dave Maass will share what EFF has learned about the various surveillance command centers in Mexico and how they communicate with U.S. law enforcement. The talk will also cover the Plataforma Centinela, a new surveillance network that will be run out of a 20-story tower in Ciudad Juarez, and its connection to Texas's efforts to patrol and control the border.
