EFF-Austin, a local organization in the Electronic Frontier Alliance, (not EFF) will host this event:
Join Open Austin at Open Data Day Austin!
From the Organizers:
EFF-Austin is proud to be a sponsor of Open Austin's Open Data Day Austin!
Local governments like the City of Austin produce masses of data, which are available to the public and free to use. At Open Data Day Austin, local residents will collaborate to explore the resources available to us, identify data sets of interest, and construct tools and visualizations around that data. Activities will include learning sessions as well as hands-on hacking.
The event is free, open to the public, with advance registration requested. Whether you are already knowledgeable about open data or want to learn more about it, you'll find something of interest at Open Data Day Austin. Bring your laptop and be prepared to hack on data.
This event is part of International Open Data Day, which celebrates open government data with events hosted around the globe.

Saturday, March 9
12:30 pm – 4:30 pm CT
