Emma Leeds Armstrong
Emma is a Staff Attorney at EFF where she focuses on litigation involving surveillance, privacy, free speech, and the impact of technology on civil rights and civil liberties. While in law school, Emma interned at the Department of Justice and in the San Francisco City Attorney's Office. She helped run the Election Law pro bono project. She also participated in the Supreme Court Litigation Clinic, where she worked on cases facilitating Section 1983 malicious prosecution suits and limiting the application of federal mandatory minimum sentences. Before law school, she worked on the 2020 election as a data analyst and New York City's COVID-19 response as a project manager. Emma studied classics and political science at Stanford University and obtained her J.D. from Stanford Law School. Outside of work, she enjoys running, going to the beach, and cooking.
